Introduction

This page gives you step-by-step instructions for how to set Criteo live as an ad network on the MAX Mediation platform.

If you do not have a direct contact at Criteo, contact maxbiddingsupport@criteo.com, and a Criteo account manager will reply to you.

Step 1. Create a Criteo Account

To enable Criteo ad inventory through the MAX platform, first sign a direct contract with Criteo. Contact maxbiddingsupport@criteo.com with a full list of your bundle IDs so the Criteo Supply Quality team can screen them. Once they approve your list, the Criteo team will send you an IO to sign.

AppLovin also needs bank proof and an updated W9 form for finance setup. You then receive an email from the Criteo Publisher Management Center with login instructions. When you log in, you see the pop-up window shown below, in which you can read and approve or reject the Criteo addendum for third-party demand partners.

After you accept the addendum, share testing bundle IDs with your Criteo account manager. These IDs are submitted to Criteo’s supply quality team for approval. After they approve them, you are ready to go to Step 2:

Step 2. Create an Application and Placements in Criteo

To start monetizing your app with Criteo, you need your Criteo Account ID and the zone IDs associated with the app you created. Your Criteo account manager creates these. Tell your Criteo account manager which ad sizes you wish to monetize. Your Criteo account manager completes the rest of the setup and shares the account and zone IDs with you.

Step 3. Enable Criteo in Your MAX Account

  1. After you complete your Criteo setup, log in to your MAX account and select MAX > Manage > Ad Units.

  2. Click the MAX ad unit placement on which you want to enable Criteo.

  3. Type the Criteo Account ID and the Zone ID values associated with the MAX ad unit you selected.

  4. Click the Status bar to activate the network and click ✓ Save. This enables Criteo in the participating networks list for this ad unit.

Notes and Best Practices

  • Criteo’s bidding machine takes about two to three weeks to learn about new traffic.

  • Criteo recommends that you do not set high floors (>$1) at the beginning, since that would result in a low bid rate before the bidding machine has a fair chance to assess all traffic.

  • Expect a gradual increase of demand from Criteo as the company completes its Iponweb acquisition, with more third party demand along with Retail Media demand.

You are now done integrating this network! To integrate additional networks, see those networks’ Mediated Network Guides pages.
